Kevin Bodnarchuk

Born and raised in Fort Frances, ON, and growing up near two of the greatest fisheries in Canada; Lake of the Woods and Rainy Lake, I have been in a boat for as long as I can remember. I had the opportunity to cut my teeth in fishing and catch the bug at a very young age, thru guidance from my father and numerous family members. The countless hours on the water trolling and dragging around a spinner with a worm or minnow with no electronics, built the basis from where I have evolved.

I was introduced to tournament fishing some 30 yrs ago by best friend Leroy Wilson and never looked back. Tho work at the time prohibited me from fishing many tournaments, I was always ready to jump into any derby I could.

Making the move to Algoma and Sault Ste. Marie 20+ years ago gave me a stable work schedule and allowed me to participate in many more tournaments and become involved more in the tournament scene as both a participant and as an advisor director.

I now spend between 125-150 days on the water per season from ice out until ice in, targeting everything from bass, walleye, pike, pan fish, rainbow trout and more. By far, my favorite species to target is both smallmouth and largemouth bass and I competitively jump in any bass tournament within 250 miles to do so. With many wins and top fives on my resume, the desire for the competition and camaraderie only grows stronger every year.
